FQCB #39 Theme of Corn starts 28 October 2023 and DT Call

Howdy! Welcome to FQCB #39 Corn Theme!

We're looking for projects using corn (husks, ears of corn, corn food products, cornstalks, etc.)with your farm/country elements and/or patterns. 

Show us your countryside charm.

October 28-November 13, 2023 with start and end times at 12:00am CT/Chicago or 6:00am UK for time references.

Bragging rights are possible. Barnraisers Top 3 Picks are for 1-40 entries. Top 5 Picks are for 41-80 entries. Top 7 Picks for 81+.

The design team crew has done their stash quests and prepared these terrific projects:

FQCB #39 required elements = 2 ears of corn little card images, corn taco shell, and 'corn' wording

farm/country patterns/textures: twine, plaid, checked ginghams

and

DT Nana Connie=

FQCB #39 corn elements: ear of corn digital image/stamp; corn stalks with pumpkins digital image pasted twice for background; and the word 'corny'

farm/country patterns/textures: waffle/gauze paper 

Hurray for corn!!! 

{I/Becca lived in Hoopeston, IL for 5 years and its high school mascot is "Cornjerkers". I believe it is the only USA school with that old job title. Every Labor Day weekend, the community hosts a Sweet Corn Festival. 

And then I have a couple of cousins living in Nebraska that are huge fans of the "Cornhuskers" college football team.}

How will you interpret this theme topic? 

Cornbread? A carton of cornmeal sitting on your kitchen counter photo? Kids eating corn-on-the-cob photos? Paint design made with rolling an ear of corn across your paper? Indian/Native corn? (Some call colored corn or decorative corn.) Popcorn?

FQCB #38 Feathers Theme Midway Reminder Post

Howdy! Yippee! Hard to believe the #38 theme is already to its midway point!

Seems like FarmQuest Theme #38 just started!

Theme #38 is about Feathers.

Competition started October 14 and ends on October 27.

For my (FQCB owner) reminder inspiration project, I have crafted an art journal page! 

[FQCB required elements for #38= cardstock has pheasant feathers in it and then I hand-drew the 3 sizes of feathers cut from the cardstock; 2 birds were stenciled/traced ]

REMEMBER: Entries to FQCB can also be 'double-dipped' over at our anything farm and/or country goes theme challenge blog, FarmQuest General Store. It is open until August 5th so you can do a couple of bear theme cards/layouts/tags now and then do the July 28th theme then after that since FQGS will let you have 5 entries for the month-long competition.
