FQCB Theme #23 Galvanized Tin or Wooden Items such as troughs, crates, or buckets etc. starts 28 Feb 2023

Howdy! Welcome to the farm--FarmQuest Challenge Blog!

Theme #23 requires something tin/galvanized or wooden

i.e. buckets, troughs, crates/boxes, etc.

Competition starts at 12:30am CST/Chicago or 6:30am UK on February 28, 2023 and will end at those same times on March 13, 2023.

Bragging rights are possible. Each participant may enter up to 3 new themed projects.

----------------------

Take a look at the design team's inspiration projects:

Diane A=

[theme #23 requirements = wood crate]

What a charming farming gnome taking an apple break under the shade of his sunflower!!! From his denim, boots, checked paper, apples, crate, and sunflower...oh, also the dirt...Diane's packed lots of country touches to her card! Wonderful!

Dottie S=

[Theme #23 requirement = galvanized/metal pot]

What a lovely farmhouse inspired color and pattern/print mix that Dottie's chosen! I love her selected sentiment, too! The metal pot container looks like it's from the sewing/craft space. Such a charming encouragement card!

NanaConnie =

[Theme #23 requirements= 1 wooden trough]

Look at this marvelous watercolored image! Food trough, muck, and a hungry pig in this image make us think of farm life. And it's paired with the perfect message! Thanks, NanaConnie, for a cute birthday card!

owner Becca S=

[theme #23 requirements= wood crates and tin silverware]

Whether farm to table or making a middle stop at a farmer's market stand, these combination of die-cuts are giving a rural country vibe. Perfect for a birthday or thinking of you card, which I haven't decided yet.

-----xX---//---XxX---\\---Xx-----

Now it's time for our readers to go on their own stash and/or computer quests to find elements of tin or wood farm/country items like buckets, troughs, and crates.

FQCB Theme #22 is Mason Jars starts 14 February 2023

Howdy! Welcome to the farm--FarmQuest Challenge Blog!

Theme #22 requires at least 1 Mason or Ball jar image!

Whether yours has flowers in it, jam, a candle, lemonade, or just empty, country folk have used glass canning jars for more than food! I've got one on my kitchen counter holding large kitchen tools like a whisk, long handled wooden spoon, and a few others. It will be fun to see what your stash quests reveal!

Competition runs February 14-27, 2023 starting and ending times of 12:30am CT/Chicago or 6:30am UK.

Each participant may submit up to 3 entries per challenge. On the blog's sidebar, there is a list of acceptable formats. Yes! We accept more than cards!

[theme #22 element= mason jar filled with flowers]

This card has great country vibes with the barn wood siding background and the different flowers in the mason jar! Diane's chosen to have her card for get well wishes! It will lift someone's spirits with its cheerful colors and great design! Awesome!

[Theme #22 requirement= empty Mason jar]

NanaConnie's tag sentiment is perfect for the Mason jar! Having those 3 little hearts reminds the receiver that they are loved.
Such a cleverly designed card for Theme #22!!

from DT member Dottie S=

[Theme #22 requirement = vellum Mason jar filled with strawberries]

When I received Dottie's card by email, I responded that seeing this made me hungry for strawberries! 11pm at night and I don't have any strawberries in my refrigerator! It's also winter in Illinois! :)

Dottie's got the perfect tag wrapped around the neck of the jar, too! Her card is just too yummy! Super sweet to look at!

[Theme #22 requirement mason jars are not quite clear embossed mason jar stickers.]

Since this theme is launching on Valentine's Day, I decided to go with a romantic garden tea party kind of shabby chic look. Doilies, butterflies, flowers, and soft pastel colors are combined to give a romantic look. We're having some unexpected cool day temps in the 40s this week which make me want to eat lunch outside but it's still too cool to do that. I'd only be able to sit out on the deck for 5 minutes or so! Maybe in 6 weeks or so....sigh...

FQCB Theme #21 Hay/Straw Barnraisers Announcement

Announcement: FarmQuest Theme #21 had just 2

entries. In the midst of Valentine's Day preparations, going country with hay/straw wasn't a popular topic option.

But thanks to 2 very loyal supportive talented artisans for tackling Theme #21!

Congrats to Granmargaret and Katrina B (Scrappyhorses)!!

Here's some small peeks at their hay/straw interpretations:

#2 entry = Katrina B

#1 entry = Granmargaret

-----Xx---//---xX---\\-----

These are fantastic farm country interpretations for hay/straw!! They are outstanding! I'm so glad they participated. Thank you both!

--------------------------------------------

Theme #22 will be launched in about 3.5 hours from when this will be published. So make sure to look for it on Tuesday February 14th!

--------------------------------

Also if you haven't seen any FB postings this week, I started a spin-off blog called FarmQuest General Store blog. It is a month-long anything farm country goes theme competition that started Theme #1 on February 7th. It will be open until March 5th. So there's plenty of time to enter. Lots of topic suggestions are given in #1 post and on the sidebar of the blog. There's a link on the blog sidebar of FQCB to get there quickly. We'd love to have you. And you're allowed to double-dip--participate in the themed FQCB topic then come over to FQGS. You may participate at both blogs for 3 times per challenge. FQGS accepts the same formats as FQCB and HQCB.

Hope to see you at the farm!
