Welcome to our Theme #7

GUEST DESIGNER, the very talented Leslie Turner=

My name is Leslie Turner and I live in beautiful Colorado. My husband and I have four grown children, three grandsons and three granddaughters, all scattered around the US. I began scrapbooking 45+ years ago, so long ago that all the fun papers and embellishments we use today hadn't even been thought of, and then graduated to card making. These days I would definitely be considered a crafting junkie and really enjoy creating all things paper - handmade cards, 3-D projects, paper shoes and purses, mini albums and gift bags. I occasionally dabble in mixed media and art journaling. I consider myself a clean crafter although I do enjoy lots of layers and getting inky occasionally. I truly love inspiring people to get crafty and I’m always inspired by other paper artists. Thanks so much for inviting me to guest design for FarmQuest Challenge Blog!

I'd love for you to follow me on social media!

To get specific details about her project, use this permalink she's provided:

GD inspiration project interpretation for Theme #7 and Leslie's selfie:

Isn't this a fantastic gardening theme friendship card?!! So sweet! Leslie chose a barrel planter that are very popular in the USA for container-style gardening and a water pitcher. The border patterned paper is showing some partial watering cans and other gardening images, too.

and the cheerful Leslie:

Leslie's theme interpretation is wonderful and it is tremendous that she's sharing her artistry with us at FarmQuest! Thanks so much!

Some credits are: "Love Grows Here" card kit from Simple Stories provided the background 2 pattern paper panel, the rooster on the barrel, watering can, blue butterfly glued to the barrel, and the little black and white checked heart; Stampin' Up 2001 "HB" stamp; and the gray and white checked gingham paper is from Hot Off The Press.

A personal gardening tidbit from me during current years has been limited to some spring and summer flowers such as peonies, tiger lilies, roses, tulips, and daffodils. These are along the south side of our house.
At my childhood home there were roses in several locations, lily of the valley on both sides of the front porch steps, a row of peonies along the back sidewalk, and then behind the house in different spots were a patch of rhubarb, grape vines, and the vegetable garden spot. On the NW corner of the house was a big lilac bush and out on the SE corner of the property next to the driveway entrance were spirea bushes. Lots to take care of but also to enjoy their beauty and bounty.

What a wonderful retro/vintage farm kitchen card made by Dottie Seubert!!!

GD Dottie Seubert has been involved in several past design teams in challenge blogland so many of you are probably acquainted with her work. She quickly responded when I asked if she would create a project for this #6 reminder post at FQCB. It's amazing and so country farmhouse kitchen perfect!

FQCB Theme #6 Berries or Cherries AND Plate or Pan or Bowl or Jar starts 14 June 2022

Howdy! Yippee! Glad you came to FarmQuest!

This is a challenge blog focused on country/rural topics related to gardening, orchards, farmers markets, lake life, ranching, farming, camping, hiking, etc.

Theme #6 has a great pair combo:

*use berries or cherries

(strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries or cherries)

AND

*a vessel container for them that is NOT a basket--pie pan, cake plate, dessert plate, mixing bowl, cereal bowl, colander/strainer bowl, jam/jelly jar, etc.

Competition runs from June 14-27, 2022 and the start and end time for both those dates is 12:30am Central Time/Chicago or 6:30am UK. Use those 2 references to adjust to wherever you are in the world.

For theme #6 inspiration=

Guest Designer for Theme #6 is the creatively skillful Kelly Sullins-Joehrs=

Doesn't her card make you hungry for pie? And her chosen sentiment is perfect too!

This is the talented artisan's picture and brief profile=

Kelly is a cardmaker and has been creating handmade cards since her friend introduced her to cardmaking in 2010.  She loves sending her cards to family and friends to let them know she's thinking about them and to brighten their day. Over the years, she has served on design teams to create inspiring projects for several companies. When Kelly's not in her studio creating cards,  you can find her working as a Real Estate Broker or enjoying the beautiful outdoors where she lives in Florida.

and FQCB owner Becca S's inspiration project for Theme #6=

Some credits for the mix of blueberry and blackberry card: checked gingham/plaid paper (Lake Life by); berry sweet frame and sentiment/tag are from Echo Park's Farmhouse Kitchen Frames and Tags set (2020); the little blackberry jam jar tag is from Echo Park's Farmers Market Frames and Tags set (2021).

This is definitely berry sweet and I've included some faux blueberries with the navy pearl gems.

Now it's your turn to go on a quest for this cooking/baking pair-up! June is country cooking month as well as National Dairy month, so a bowl of ice cream topped with berries sounds really yummy! I had a mixed berry medley along with pizza and tossed salad for lunch and supper today over at my mother's farm. My sister, niece, and great nephew have traveled over 12 hours to spend a few days with us! Our brother, sister-in-law, and nephew drove 2-3 hours to join us for lunch and afternoon visiting in the air conditioning! It's a scorcher in Illinois!

Acceptable formats are mentioned in the rules but I'll state them here so you can start brainstorming ideas and think about where to search in your stash. Scrapbook layouts, TN spreads, journals/planners, tags, bookmarks, cards, and ATCs.

Participation info: Please read the rules listed in the sidebar. Become a blog follower, please. Thank you for supporting FarmQuest through your project submission photo link. To do that, use the provided Inlinkz tool address=

for your inspiration------------------->

Guest Designer: Mags B or Maggie Brinkley from UK

Mags is on several design teams. She stays busy every week crafting for her DT commitments. We share two--My Time To Craft challenge blog and My Time To Craft Christmas. She's stepped up and helped create an extra project for each since we have some DT members taking breaks in 2022. Her willingness to do this has been so very appreciative. And she's extended her craft time even more to be the guest designer for this reminder Theme #5 post!!! Thank you Mags!!!

GD inspiration project=

A darling ATC! She heat embossed the background and then stamped over it. This technique she learned through Online Card Classes Spring Boot Camp 2022. It certainly provides interest.

Some design and vendor notes for #2 include: white card base and all the elements on this card front except the twine, staples, and the gray heart strip are from Simple Stories card kit "Happy Greetings". The vase, the yellow-ish buds, and the leaves on the little sprig were colored 'over' with a raw sienna crayon and the file storage boxes die-cut had 'thyme' and 'oregano' written on the labels.
